It’s so nice to meet you! I would like to share a little about me. I come from a family that has a variety of artistic interests. My grandfather was a commercial printer and a photographer, so I learned a lot from him growing up. My mother was always taking pictures of my brother and I throughout our lives, at celebrations, activities, sports, and candids of day-to-day moments she wanted to capture and remember. These influences helped spark my love for photography. My grandparents bought me my first camera when I was in junior high and I was hooked!
After high school, I attended the University of St. Francis, where I received my bachelor’s in fine arts with a concentration in photography and graphic design. I love being afforded the opportunity to try new things with my photography, but my passion is capturing the special moments of people doing what they love. The past six years I have had the pleasure and honor to do just this through photographing both sports and concerts. I was the athletic photographer for all 4 years at USF and got the honor of capturing a wide variety of sports. I also found my passion for photographing concerts with the help from my professors. To start my journey in music photography, I began writing music reviews for the university art and design magazine—The Comp Magazine. Since graduating, I have started my own review site—JDP Reviews. I hope to one day be able to work in the sport or music industry as a full-time photographer.
My photography has been featured on The Today Show of NBC, KTLA, the Daily Southtown and the Herold News newspapers, and Country Now’s online publication. My images have also been featured on various vocal artist’s social media platforms, such as Scotty McCreery and Josh Turner. You can see more of my work by checking out The Comp Magazine’s website as well as my review page!
In my free time you will most likely find me at the barn riding horses, reading a romance book, crocheting, or scrapbooking. I have been riding horses since I was 8 years old, and they have become such a big part of my life and helped shape me into who I am today! You will also find me attending concerts as much as possible. I have a passion for music photography, and I love getting the opportunity to capture artists in their element. I love getting to travel and see what the world has to offer.
My goal is to make sure you are comfortable and happy with your session! It can be so intimidating to be in front of a camera, so it’s my job to make you feel like your best self while having fun in the process! Whether your graduating high school or college, documenting family memories, starting your career, or just looking for capturing who you are—I want to create your everlasting memories! Every moment of your life is a memory to look back on and share with future generations. I would be honored to be able to capture these memories for you!
